American Independent

Party (called the American Independ ent Party) was founded in 1968 for the then presidential election s the party has opposed the extension of civil rights for people of color, which assured the President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964. It was founded by former Alabama Governor George Corley Wallace, who had presidential ambitions, but as a representative of the extreme right could not count on the nomination of the Democratic Party, which formally belonged, but in which direction exercised by the Liberals.
